These Compact Sweet Pea in a Milk Churn will grow to about  30-40cm A good tip for more flowers is to pinch out the growing shoot after the seedlings have produced two or three sets of leaves as this will encourage the Sweet Pea plants to bush out more. Directions for Growing Compact Sweet Pea in a Milk Churn
  • Sow, indoors anytime from September to April or outdoors during May and June
  • Empty the compost into the bucket, holding a small amount back to cover the Sweet Pea seeds
  • Place the Sweet Pea seeds on the compost, spacing evenly.
  • Cover the Sweet Pea seeds with the remaining compost (about 1/4 inch deep)
  • Firm down the compost and water in well
  • Place the planter in a warm place and keep moist
  • Once Sweet Pea seedlings appear, keep watering and move to a more sunny position
  • In April/May as the temperatures increase, "harden off" the seedling plants by moving outdoors for a few hours each day and after a week you can leave outside once risk of frost has passed.

Spring bulbs vary in cost depending on the time of year. Ordering early in the year means that I can supply them at a better price. These will become more expensive as we get closer to the autumn.
