With careful choosing, plants which provide good foliage interest can bring fabulous colour to the garden all year long.
The benefit of using plants with good foliage is that, whilst flower colour may be transient and in some cases very fleeting indeed, evergreen foliage colour is present during each month of the year
The plants in this Evergreen Foliage Plant Collection will do equally as well in pots or the open ground.
They are more suited to being used as individual plants in pots or the garden more so than as a combination.
Whats included:
1 x Euonymus 'Blondy' - beautiful dark green foliage with a vivid golden variegation. A great plant to brighten up a shady part of the garden. A compact form which will get to about 60cm in height.
1 x Vinca Illumination - A really great evergreen ground cover plant with beautiful green and yellow foliage and mauve/blue flowers. Ideal for growing in pots, on banks, and raised planter beds.
1 x Hebe Little Red Rum - A very attractive dwarf form of Hebe with distinctive purple/red foliage. A plant which is worth growing even if it never flowered for the evergreen foliage alone. But, boy does it flower!! Masses of Lilac coloured flowers are produced throughout summer and into autumn. These flowers are loved by both bees and butterflies. Grows to about 50cm x 50cm
1 x Leucothoe Curly Red - Leucothoes are one of my favourite of all plants for evergeen foliage interest. This 'Curly Red' variety, as the name suggests has twisty foliage which turns a deep, crimson red during the autumn and winter months and makes for a very interesting plant. Grows to about 80cm-1m in height.
1 x Heuchera Marmalade - I am a Heucheraolic and this is probably my favourite variety. Beautiful, russet, marmalade coloured leaves with a nice pink underside and white/pale orange coral bell style flowers. Likes full sun or semi shade. Foliage reaches a height of about 30 cm and flower stems can get to 50cm or more in height.
Packaging and Delivery:
I do my best to make sure that all packaging is recycled/recyclable or compostable. All the plants are wrapped in a honeycomb paper which replaces the need for plastic bubble-wrap and is both recyclable and compostable.
