＋What makes NutriChar different?
NutriChar is more than a source of organic nutrients. It combines nutrient-enriched biochar with composted poultry manure to help improve soil structure, hold moisture and nutrients in the root zone for longer, and support beneficial soil life. Better growing conditions can help plants cope with periods of stress.
＋How much do I need?
Planting: Add a good handful, approximately 50 to 100g, to the planting hole and mix with the surrounding soil.
Top dressing: Scatter around established plants over soil or mulch at approximately 100g per square metre, roughly two generous handfuls. Water in where appropriate. Handful sizes vary, so use scales when precision matters.
＋Give tired garden soil a lift
Want to give compost or planting soil an extra boost? Mix in NutriChar at approximately 10 parts soil or compost to 1 part NutriChar by volume, mixing evenly. It brings nutrients and biochar into the growing medium, while compost continues to supply valuable organic matter.
＋Can I use it on my lawn?
Yes, when preparing a new lawn. Incorporate NutriChar into the soil before laying turf or sowing grass seed.
For established lawns, the pellet form is less convenient because it takes time to break down and may remain visible. We are working on a dedicated biochar-based lawn feed.
＋Planting trees and shrubs
When planting trees and shrubs, mix a good handful of NutriChar, approximately 50 to 100g, into the soil in the planting hole. Plant at the correct depth, water well and give roots room to establish.
＋When should I use NutriChar?
Winter and spring are useful times to prepare soil and top dress before the growing season. Add NutriChar to planting holes whenever you are planting. In summer, use it around established plants or in containers for a seasonal lift.
Do not spread nutrient-rich material onto frozen, saturated or waterlogged ground, or where it could wash into drains or waterways.
