Small Suburban Garden Design in Ballincollig, Cork

This was a typical suburban garden in Ballincollig that needed some structure and thought.

Smaller gardens like this are often the most important to get right. Everything is visible all of the time, so there is very little room for elements that feel out of place or plants that dont perform.

The space itself was small and it felt overly square and lacked a sense of flow. The aim was to create something that felt more balanced, more connected and easier to use day to day.

The layout was reworked using curves and a circular form to break away from the rigid lines of the site. This softens the space visually and naturally guides movement through the garden, making it feel larger and more considered.

Planting was then used to soften that structure, adding continuity, seasonal interest and a sense of cohesion across the space.

The result is a garden that feels more complete, more comfortable to use and far more in keeping with the house.
